Admissions Information
Our Academy opened in September 2016 and we are now open to pupils in Nursery to Year 6.
Applications for places at the Nursery are managed by the Academy and applications for places in Reception are managed by Tameside Council on our behalf. 
Applying for a Nursery place at Discovery Academy.
The Academy is open to Nursery aged pupils who will be 4 years old between 1st September and 31st August annually. Our Nursery universal provision is 15 hours per week term time only and these sessions are 8:45 – 11:45am each day. There are also 30 hour weekly sessions for those families who are eligible for 30hrs funding or pay a ‘top up fee’. Please note that attendance at the Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception at the Academy.
Applying for a Reception place at Discovery Academy.
If you are interested in a place in Reception we follow the co-ordinated admissions process managed by Tameside Council. Please go to the following link to apply https://admission.tameside.gov.uk/CitizenPortal_LIVE/Account/Login or go to https://www.tameside.gov.uk/admissions.

The on-line application process opens annually in November and closes the following January. The Academy is then notified in April of pupils allocated a place for the following September.
